Post-RBMA Big Up Podcast – Daisuke Tanabe

Subtlety, patience, beauty, and foremost emotion seem to be the most obvious words to describe the sound of Daisuke Tanabe. Taking inspiration from nearly every aspect of electronic music as well as jazz, folk, and reggae, Daisuke is not afraid to blend it all to create what really matters most – the feeling.

After carefully honing his craft from the age of 16, it was his first EP release in 2006 that really brought him to the attention of Gilles Peterson and Pete Adarkwah. Since then he has remixed artists such as Elan Mehler and Aaron Jerome, and released music on labels like Ninja Tune, BBE, and Brownswood Recordings.

This mix is a real journey through the sound, crossing the borders of genres, labels, and definitions. Open your ears and listen, listen deep…
