With one of the most cutting-edge lineups of any West Coast festival this year, it is obvious that the promoters of EMRG+N+SEE have done their homework with a roster of talent that will send a resounding thud, whomp and wonk through the forests of Oregon this weekend.

EMRG+N+SEE starts things off right with the godfathers of dubstep, Mala. This DMZ icon has been taking a breather from touring the States since last fall at Symbiosis Gathering and Decibel Festival in Seattle. Anyone who witnessed that early-morning analog reverberation of bass ecstasy under giant evergreens knows that Mala alone is worth the trip to Oregon.

Another heavy-hitter from the UK on the lineup is Slugabed, whose recent 12” release on Planet Mu is planted firmly in the chaotic post-genre universe where deconstructed hip hop bumps uglies with IDM, producing broken-beat babies whose googly eyes know no rules – only freedom.

The festival also boasts San Francisco-based folk singer Sean Hayes, whomp wave master Vibesquad, the spastic March Fourth Marching Band and a fine contingent from the slung-out LA beat community, including Free the Robots, Shlohmo, Baths, Devonwho and Teebs. Many more notable pioneers in bass music and beyond will be on hand: MartyParty, Mux Mool, Eprom, Hovatron, Emancipator, NastyNasty, Siren, Bass Science, Mr. Rogers, Nicoluminous, Lafa Taylor and dozens more.

Tickets to EMRG+N+SEE are $140 presale and include camping, with additional fees for cars and RVs. Find out more information about this festival on the EMRG+N+SEE website.
