THE MESSAGE – PHOTOWORK BY ASHES57

On November 18th Lava Collective and The Art Corner Manchester present the opening of “The Message” – exhibition of photoworks and illustration by Ashes57.

Heavily influenced by urban art forms from across both sides of the Atlantic, The Message is an exhibition of photographic portraits and illustration. Much of the photography focuses on artists from the dubstep music scene, capturing its leading names such as Skream, Digital Mystikz and Loefah both behind the decks in packed out clubs and in altogether more intimate and reflective surroundings; away from the characteristic intensity of the scene’s parties.

The collection is by no means limited to one genre or art form, with shots of legendary hiphop luminaries including Public Enemy, Ghostface Killah and RZA alongside a selection of exclusive photos documenting contemporary American artist Shepard Fairey (commonly now known for his Barack Obama “Hope” poster”) at work in the streets of London, Boston and New York. Prints will be available for sale on site.
