Big Up Podcast 50 – Phaeleh (Mix And Interview)

We have come to the 50th episode of our podcast series, and this time we prepared something very special. All-original material from our favorite Bristolean producer – Phaeleh. Stunning melodies, soothing subbass, and piercing emotiveness fill the whole 50 minutes of Phaeleh production mixed into delicious soulfood. You do need a powerful sub for this one. And definitely a loved one by your side.

PHAELEH FILLS IN THE BLANKS

– Hi, I am Phaeleh, and I thoroughly enjoy… a nice cup of tea and making beats.

– I think it’s so weird when people… don’t seem to have a passion in life.

– I always wonder if I will ever… make a tune without reverb.

– Music for me is… a perfect blend of escapism and expression.

– When I finished “Think About It”… I thought about it.

– If I were to write a soundtrack to any movie I like, I would pick… something like Koyaanisqatsi.

– The biggest surprise in my music career was… playing between Roni Size and Mala at St Pauls carnival in Bristol, that was something I wouldn’t have imagined happening a few years back.

– Before I get to work in the studio, I absolutely have to… chill with a cup of tea before any beats are made.

– The first track I produced sounds… like a budget version of Selected Ambient Works.

– My best decision in life so far was… to pursue production more seriously and work hard at getting my music out there.

– If my music was a meal, it would be… Spaghetti Bolognese.

– Ok, enough with the interviews, I’m gonna… make another cup of tea and eat some toast.

NOTE: Phaeleh’s stunning “The Cold In You” EP is out now on Afterglo, and is probably the best 8 bucks you could spend today.
