Rhythm Monks describe themselves as “technicians of ecstacy. Modern Shamans. Mystics. The Drum serves them and their audience as a vehicle to another state of consciousness.” Since 2008, when Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport closed down, the Rhythm Monks brought their operation to its new home in the basement underneath the terminal. There they hold their rituals – the playing of mystical rhythms – in search of “an extended consciousness within themselves and their audience.”

Being a part of modern society and Berlin’s art scene, The Rhythm Monks wear masks in denial of ego and praising of unity. And today they surfaced with new music and videos telling their story… A very healthy dose of mysticism.
