Listen To Jungle Revolution By Congo Natty

Born in Tottenham during the 60s, Michael West has been known under the aliases Conquering Lion, Rebel MC, Blackstar, Tribe Of Issachar and X Project. During the 80s, West formed the group Double Trouble with Michael Menson and Karl Brown. Their single Just Keep Rockin’ reached the top 20 in the UK charts but was rejected by the British Hip Hop community. After a change in direction West found success in Jungle with memorable anthems such as Junglist and Police In Helicopter.

Congo Natty still keeps the energy of his musical roots and early Jungle alive. His new album Jungle Revolution is about how he sees jungle as this century’s translation of roots reggae.
The message of reggae is love, but they were also prophesying and talking about the system, talking about things that were going on in the world. I saw jungle as being that same music, where we were going to spread a message.
On Jungle Revolution Congo Natty is joined by numerous guests such as Adrian Sherwood, Benny Page and Serial Killaz. You can listen to the entire album Jungle Revolution here, it is set for release on July 1st on Big Dada Records.
When I’m weak, you’re tellin’ me that that I’m strong.
When I’m right, you’re tellin’ me that I’m wrong.
But I know, now I understand, now I see,
I see your wicked plan. I’m a Junglist.
These lyrics ring bells in the memory of any Junglist.
